We have learnt so many new skills! The children are becoming so confident in their skills and learning.</p><p>We have begun our report writing this week. All those questions the children have been asking you at home about their ancestors are being put to good use. These reports are in their drive so when they have finished they can share them with you. They are beginning to sound fantastic!</p><p>Learning at Home: Remember all work is uploaded onto the class learning site under learning at home. If you have any questions please email me. Paper packs can also be requested by ringing the office or sending me an email.</p>Miss McGeadyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13068780893217980905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434767881318717974.post-36109284731921973122022-03-18T10:02:00.001+13:002022-03-24T14:27:42.298+13:00Term 1, Week 7 2022<p> This week our cybersmart lesson was around Google Presentations and making animations. We can't believe we are halfway into the term already. This week we had a look at the features of Google Draw. We created underwater scenes using the shape and line tools. These have all been posted onto our blogs so check them out! If you would like to give one a go, have a look on our learning site for instructions.</p><p>We finished our I have a dream writing this week. They look amazing blowing in the breeze in the classroom. The Room Four kids have some big dreams and goals for themselves, the world and the community. Some of the dreams include cleaning up the beach, helping homeless people and helping out children who are less fourtunate than they are. These are pretty big goals but we believe they can achieve anything they set their minds to!</p><p>Miss McGeady</p>Miss McGeadyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13068780893217980905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434767881318717974.post-60711014511780141352022-03-04T14:48:00.007+13:002022-03-08T14:52:29.765+13:00Term 1, Week 5 2022<p> Another busy week in Room Four this week. We have begun our I have a dream writing unit and so far they are looking amazing, we cannot wait to upload photos for you all to see.</p><p>We hope you have been enjoying all the blog posts we have been creating on our own blogs. We are beginning to get the hang of this but need a little more practice. It would be great if you could leave a comment, we would love to reply.</p><p>Friday we had our week 5 big reward day. Most of room four were able to go as they recieved no warnings over the past 5 weeks! We had a treasure hunt and milkshake, with lots of goodies along the way.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiq59Hh4Z3Wt9YJzsQeRMsQxkTum7deCJi-GN1m3Z8yxJb0YHuURpe4330DylFHgpfEPTp2UA8-t3tg_BwpBeTCHRw768TG2nqHPS2MV12zePG_YHWb0PilGlk-9Ab6HsrOpVAx-1urTXOs1QFRxuxS6tFqa2gnOtungekjjj3dt6vBIACmjpFI4j5S2w=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiq59Hh4Z3Wt9YJzsQeRMsQxkTum7deCJi-GN1m3Z8yxJb0YHuURpe4330DylFHgpfEPTp2UA8-t3tg_BwpBeTCHRw768TG2nqHPS2MV12zePG_YHWb0PilGlk-9Ab6HsrOpVAx-1urTXOs1QFRxuxS6tFqa2gnOtungekjjj3dt6vBIACmjpFI4j5S2w=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Miss McGeadyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13068780893217980905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434767881318717974.post-8776753792544971762022-02-23T15:30:00.001+13:002022-02-23T15:30:00.158+13:00Term 1, Week 4 2022<p> Room Four has been very busy this week learning some new Chromebook skills. We have been looking at the different shortcuts on our keyboard. Did you know ctrl + c copies and ctrl + v pastes!</p><p>Have a look on our class site under Cybersmart to find a slide all about knowing our keyboards. You can also find all of our learning on our individual blogs.</p><p>The Children have learnt this week how to embed a link into their blog so the Google Slide presentation will be displayed. This was a tricky process for some but we all got there in the end.</p><p>At the end of the week we will be leanring all about taking screenshots. Stay tuned onto our blogs and learning site for more information!</p><p>This week we have our first P.E. lesson with Michael. We are all looking forward to getting out there and learning some new skills. Michael will be working with Room Four every second week.</p><p>We hope everyone has a fantastic rest of their week!</p><p>Miss McGeady and the Room Four Children</p>Miss McGeadyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13068780893217980905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434767881318717974.post-6139733585592563052022-02-15T13:10:00.000+13:002022-02-15T13:10:31.364+13:00Term 1, Week 3 2022<p> The beginning of the year is flying by so fast already. The children are well settled into the class routines and are enjoying getting back into the swing of things. We begun this year by creating a class waka. This represents all of Room 4 rowing together and working as one. Around this we discussed how we think our classroom should run. What class rules should we have? How can we make our classroom a safe and happy environment for everyone?</p><p>We have also been working hard on our self portraits. These were created with a black and white photo of ourselves, a crayon and a sharp pencil. The children are so proud of how their art has turned out. They look fantastic on the wall.</p><p>If you would like to see and hear about more of our learning, pop on over to our class learning site. This is updated daily. On the class learning site you will also find all the work/learning needed if your child is at home isolating or unwell. I update this daily based on whether or not any children are away from Room 4 for that day. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch via email. I am more than happy to help!<br /></p><p>Have a fantastic week,</p><p>Miss McGeady</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgAHM8X7gcOjlgJuSSi2JHkCLB5duYpy7-b6b_OiZ3Ac9zccQjw5DAv2N-O5VmU15jkPgaad2W3qdzaiNJChog6_dGIPg4Vwxpc_HQWE4m_ydpIPee97p3dPanoAMQN3K_YvN7m7eEcaBfYByNTJdDULe-8_DiCdlAdqqQjkSFpyvCRGy4AFYbV-Tzbdg=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="1816" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgAHM8X7gcOjlgJuSSi2JHkCLB5duYpy7-b6b_OiZ3Ac9zccQjw5DAv2N-O5VmU15jkPgaad2W3qdzaiNJChog6_dGIPg4Vwxpc_HQWE4m_ydpIPee97p3dPanoAMQN3K_YvN7m7eEcaBfYByNTJdDULe-8_DiCdlAdqqQjkSFpyvCRGy4AFYbV-Tzbdg=w90-h200" width="90" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjgPgF_zxXueqnpUfKp1_fboY0WRi4tUau4Y-gpVuED46e9A0X7MLED-WsmlHPCFntVpKq5vKUnbg2vOI1rsLVgdZzjZ979ZzVs2kjkrhpL32X9dP__BpbczkrOGgg4maU1NVQ9OHKe23pSLfQmtOgu0wZ9jS9vuK86LKRU3N5SBp3IbUCo8WClvVQRhQ=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="1816" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjgPgF_zxXueqnpUfKp1_fboY0WRi4tUau4Y-gpVuED46e9A0X7MLED-WsmlHPCFntVpKq5vKUnbg2vOI1rsLVgdZzjZ979ZzVs2kjkrhpL32X9dP__BpbczkrOGgg4maU1NVQ9OHKe23pSLfQmtOgu0wZ9jS9vuK86LKRU3N5SBp3IbUCo8WClvVQRhQ=w90-h200" width="90" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiTCrtyoQJlVr45lEPnhOX8XK8eR88Xvn8VNbcKZ_3nI5lR3GtyqViUxIJwHqqdijy-Cv_TbKyU83AKWbAHYCRn69OQbRnQYvEY7rPIkDVZucxeaPR0O_usXkKSNIRs1jIhwGoqW8bW9i7dJJ2gHJaCVnUL02V0aHv7dLKzHJX1T7Z8wuthVJYcc9TqGA=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="1816" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiTCrtyoQJlVr45lEPnhOX8XK8eR88Xvn8VNbcKZ_3nI5lR3GtyqViUxIJwHqqdijy-Cv_TbKyU83AKWbAHYCRn69OQbRnQYvEY7rPIkDVZucxeaPR0O_usXkKSNIRs1jIhwGoqW8bW9i7dJJ2gHJaCVnUL02V0aHv7dLKzHJX1T7Z8wuthVJYcc9TqGA=w90-h200" width="90" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgTt7gZaemZVwt2OMjsLDZ6Y-YU9KBuuqm8eSHw_RrKeHPyAAobVsfheKaPo_BXYxmG2Atxit0CE6ymoVC9N5p4XZ_00lJdjrGLKRPNnFbQrQu4Kn0_GXfIjQ_uapr0yj-JOuU82gOcrgTdmx6JdqNOHruu3lhbvOfRKPba4cB8lvTSLJ8bqeaCXKPAlA=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="1816" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgTt7gZaemZVwt2OMjsLDZ6Y-YU9KBuuqm8eSHw_RrKeHPyAAobVsfheKaPo_BXYxmG2Atxit0CE6ymoVC9N5p4XZ_00lJdjrGLKRPNnFbQrQu4Kn0_GXfIjQ_uapr0yj-JOuU82gOcrgTdmx6JdqNOHruu3lhbvOfRKPba4cB8lvTSLJ8bqeaCXKPAlA=w90-h200" width="90" /></a><p></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEizDYzxTCuDwIicyrIDp2771_KjH13mbNQhGBUN-SfgiSzbkzmimhDVcQRC7lYxHHMYxDr2vw1mo5elOPitvmscwRclCol1AUK7GLXKHpbZE0q33W9OAVJsxxQcnve5VkvoLVzlcXoVLz39l9koLn5iJqDCbDYpd98l4JSB1DZRpo8CevP15w-FODxgjA=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1816" data-original-width="4032" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEizDYzxTCuDwIicyrIDp2771_KjH13mbNQhGBUN-SfgiSzbkzmimhDVcQRC7lYxHHMYxDr2vw1mo5elOPitvmscwRclCol1AUK7GLXKHpbZE0q33W9OAVJsxxQcnve5VkvoLVzlcXoVLz39l9koLn5iJqDCbDYpd98l4JSB1DZRpo8CevP15w-FODxgjA=w640-h288" width="640" /></a></p>Miss McGeadyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13068780893217980905noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434767881318717974.post-61667745940154933312021-10-17T21:55:00.002+13:002021-10-17T21:55:44.992+13:00Week 1 Term 4<p> And just like that we are heading into term 4! These teachers inspired me to become a teacher. I am very grateful for everything they taught me and the care they showed me.</span><br /></p><p>My goals for this year is to incorporate Minecraft and more digital learning into my teaching. In my previous years teaching, this came easy to me however having taken 1.5 years off, I have missed new skills and am now trying to catch up and learn new skills to teach my children.</p><p>Today we have been learning about making a safe blog profile. During physical education today we learnt how we can change our moving speed from walking to sprinting in a safe manner. Our aim is to m<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">ove around an area, increasing and decreasing speed in response to the instructions Miss McGeady gives us. Some of us found it difficult to change speed and listen to instructions. It was even harder when a bean bag was added that we had to throw to a partner while moving and changing speed or </span><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">direction</span><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">. So many different aspects to think about all at once!</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: inherit;">We thought carefully about the following questions:</span></p><p><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span id="docs-internal-guid-611ae002-7fff-6ceb-906c-3ac8ea5087ec"></span></span></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-inline-start: 48px;"><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr" style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; list-style-type: disc; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre;"><p dir="ltr" role="presentation" style="line-height: 1.2; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">When might you have to accelerate in a game?</span></span></p></li><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr" style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; list-style-type: disc; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre;"><p dir="ltr" role="presentation" style="line-height: 1.2; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">When might you have to slow down in a game?</span></span></p></li><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr" style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; list-style-type: disc; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre;"><p dir="ltr" role="presentation" style="line-height: 1.2; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Why is it important to maintain stability when we are changing speed?<br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HeWEq7Hd3jU/YE_F7ejL5bI/AAAAAAAABCM/s6k6OtV736cvbPCYziLBoqp6JNgVBjF-wCLcBGAsYHQ/s2543/20210309_101746.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1236" data-original-width="2543" height="157" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HeWEq7Hd3jU/YE_F7ejL5bI/AAAAAAAABCM/s6k6OtV736cvbPCYziLBoqp6JNgVBjF-wCLcBGAsYHQ/w320-h157/20210309_101746.jpg" width="320" /></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7yIWitlFbkQ/YE_F7b8Av5I/AAAAAAAABCI/sanRGfouJ1MB_qP3l7DBX-ViO6yi0exRQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2543/20210309_100907.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1236" data-original-width="2543" height="156" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7yIWitlFbkQ/YE_F7b8Av5I/AAAAAAAABCI/sanRGfouJ1MB_qP3l7DBX-ViO6yi0exRQCLcBGAsYHQ/w320-h156/20210309_100907.jpg" width="320" /></a></div></span></div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uc-LDu6uSvQ/YE_F3TipVmI/AAAAAAAABCA/87gD7PixsE8_gTse4vReSplbxW27FMlmACLcBGAsYHQ/s2543/20210309_100839.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1236" data-original-width="2543" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uc-LDu6uSvQ/YE_F3TipVmI/AAAAAAAABCA/87gD7PixsE8_gTse4vReSplbxW27FMlmACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/20210309_100839.jpg" width="320" /></a></div></span></li></ul>Miss McGeadyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13068780893217980905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434767881318717974.post-90556789259696405352021-03-05T11:30:00.019+13:002021-03-16T10:26:28.765+13:00Duffy Show - Week 5<p> Today we had Duffy come a preform a show for us. It was all about the struggles of online learning and level 4 lockdown. I love how the show related so well to the world we are currently living in. It was great to see all the struggles that we have during lockdown and how they can turn into positive outcomes! Duffy certainly made the most of his level 4 lockdown and gave us some handy tips for if we have to go into level 4 again.</p><p>Ollie came and enjoyed the show with us, he really enjoyed it but found it a little loud!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YF6qnsGKM0I/YE_Qw_11NrI/AAAAAAAABDQ/Q1VJPGbmGko5_f5Q0PfmGMh2kUVXM-HKQCLcBGAsYHQ/s5152/IMG_0785.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3864" data-original-width="5152" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YF6qnsGKM0I/YE_Qw_11NrI/AAAAAAAABDQ/Q1VJPGbmGko5_f5Q0PfmGMh2kUVXM-HKQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_0785.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KMg7WI9QXH4/YE_QxAgYkII/AAAAAAAABDU/NAozO9UQo8YHpskaNzLMGr4FHkO50sWvgCLcBGAsYHQ/s5152/IMG_0787.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3864" data-original-width="5152" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KMg7WI9QXH4/YE_QxAgYkII/AAAAAAAABDU/NAozO9UQo8YHpskaNzLMGr4FHkO50sWvgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_0787.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ka6IfUnOPoA/YE_QxIgG-BI/AAAAAAAABDY/i6-lzdEBwgorCQKQuX5p9lXQWCZqP473gCLcBGAsYHQ/s5152/IMG_0789.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3864" data-original-width="5152" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ka6IfUnOPoA/YE_QxIgG-BI/AAAAAAAABDY/i6-lzdEBwgorCQKQuX5p9lXQWCZqP473gCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_0789.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NREIkH55SXg/YE_Qymc3MDI/AAAAAAAABDc/Yq9DiC0bm2w3hO2Ms1zanDmbe2TEi7krQCLcBGAsYHQ/s5152/IMG_0796.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3864" data-original-width="5152" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NREIkH55SXg/YE_Qymc3MDI/AAAAAAAABDc/Yq9DiC0bm2w3hO2Ms1zanDmbe2TEi7krQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_0796.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Miss McGeadyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13068780893217980905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434767881318717974.post-11776407643296614102021-02-23T16:30:00.021+13:002021-03-16T09:59:23.339+13:00Deano Yipadee Author Online - Week 4<p> What an experience we had today! Room 4 have been using EP for Learning this term to learn and practice using te reo in the classroom. I am so proud of the amount of knowledge the children have picked up and are becoming so comfortable using. Room 4 enjoys singing the song 'A ha ka ma' to practice their pronunciation of the Māori alphabet. </div>

I partnered the children up and gave them a balloon to work with. Using one index finger each the children had to get the balloon from the ground to above their heads without dropping it. Everyone was really good at it! After the task we had a discussion about it, I asked the children what they had had found difficult or easy about the task. I also asked them what it was like to have to rely on another person to complete the task with. The general consensus was that it was a bit hard to know how to make it work when they didn't know what the other person's ideas were. We discussed that it meant we needed to talk to each other to decide how to work together to be successful. Talking helps us to gain strategy while also helping us to build trust in each other through working together. We had so much fun doing this!</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1
